Brianna’s Story

Thirteen year old Brianna Murphy doesn’t allow diabetes to run her life. Brianna has Type 1 Diabetes and visits the Diabetic Clinic at Northside General Hospital regularly. Her condition doesn’t stop her from playing basketball and soccer or from competing in dance competitions. Brianna is able to enjoy sleepovers thanks to an insulin pump that she received three years ago.

Since she had her pump she can spend more time with her friends and she doesn’t have to carry needles with her- it has really changed her life for the better. Brianna wants to be a Diabetic Dietician; she would like to help people with Diabetes when she grows up.

Brianna is proud to be associated with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She helps organize Walks and Activities for her family and friends and is proud to be a fundraising advocate for others living with Type 1 Diabetes.

Brianna thanks her Mom who she calls her personal doctor and the wonderful staff at the Northside General Diabetic Clinic who have helped her so much.
