“The first official bus trip will be celebrated in the community with Mayor Cecil Clarke along for an outing with the Veteran’s from Harbourview”
“This announcement couldn’t come soon enough”, says Chair of the Board Daniel McKeough. “The Foundation has worked diligently in partnership with many organizations along with our dedicated donors and volunteers to provide this bus for the patients. This is not just a bus—it is freedom—freedom for the patients to visit family members, travel to historic sites, shopping malls and restaurants” said McKeough.
The project was completed in just under a year with a boost from the CBRM by means of a generous $20,000 donation to finish the – Care with us for a Bus Campaign. The old bus will be tendered to the highest bidder and the new bus will be seen parked at Northside General Hospital. It will display logos for the next six months of local businesses who have made large contributions to the project.
The Northside/Harbourview Hospital Foundation invites the community to Rollie’s Wharf this Friday May 17th between 12 noon and 2pm for light refreshments.
